BRING IT!!!

Finally!!!!!

Today Chris went to the public defenders office and just waited for her to see him. They had a "good" talk and he came away feeling empowered...which is funny considering what she said to him.

Basically she informed him that he was "getting it" when he mentioned pleading. He no longer "gets it" since he decided he wanted to fight for his life. We both laughed at that.

She informed him that there is a 75% chance of losing. Chris thought, "AWESOME!!!!" He said he wanted to say, "Well, my God is bigger than all this, so..." but, he just silently cheered. lol.

My dad even peaked in the room earlier today letting us know that he's been thinking all day about the examples in the Scriptures where the liklihood of a positive outcome is slim to none...and in each case God delivers. I immediately thought of Daniel. Who would so joyfully go into a den full of hungry lions? The liklihood of Daniel being lion kibble was high...very high...but God sent an angel to protect Daniel and God was majorly glorified.

From the beginning Chris and I have wanted our lives to bring God glory. We have wanted this situation to just bless people left and right and point directly to God. Well, a win with a 75% chance of losing would be totally God. Right? Right. Our lawyer thinks we're crazy! Yay! We're crazy with the best of them!

We can continue to pray for confusion in our enemies (Psalm 27). This whole thing went down during the High Holy Days when I was reading Psalm 27 twice a day. When Chris called me from jail I immediately grabbed my Bible and read it to him. It has been our prayer from the beginning...that the DA would win this case for us.

So. Now. We have court on Friday. We need prayer over that date. It will decide whether or not we're ready to head into trial. If we are, then the trial will be the end of March (right through Beth's birthday). Please join us in prayer over this date...prayer for confusion in our enemies and that our public defender would blatently see supernatural justice.

A friend mentioned something to me that REALLY helped me today. When God took the Israelites out of Egypt they were armed for battle and thought they were ready to go, but God knew if they faced battle right away they would turn back to Egypt - so, He took them out the long way around. Sometimes we are armed for battle and think we're ready - but, God knows we need to go around the long way. It's good to have a rabbi as a friend. :o)
