We are looking forward to watching as God works in our lives over this next few months. We are sneaking up on our next court date, November 19th, and doing so with great anticipation. Our God is awesome and we just know He is up to something good!
We have a wonderful update in regards to our personal lives. Chris has been working with a friend doing audio visual work! He is working long hours and is loving the work. He is fairly certain this is his new career. In fact, he is home right now talking "shop" with his boss.
The biggest issue we are facing right now is that although he has been working long hours, it has not been enough to catch us up from the summer. This summer our cash aid was cut in half leaving us $500 short per month. I don't understand how people are supposed to get themselves off of government aid when they do things like this. We are still cut, but with Chris' earnings we will be able to make it each month. Right now, though, we are working on catching up and there are a few bills we really, honestly, need help with. I will go ahead and list what we need and you can pray over the list...and for those who can help, we would very much appreciate it.
- Rent - We are behind by $750.
- Storage - We need $200 for this month. We are looking to store our things in a family members garage so that we no longer have this bill. This is the ONLY bill that can be considered unnecessary. The things in it have been paired down to the things I just can't replace or things like clothes for the kids to grow into.
- Diapers - Hannah needs Huggies size 4. It is the only kind she can use.
- Wipes - She needs Huggies brand. We use the Natural kind.
- Formula - Hannah uses Nature's One Organic Dairy formula. It's cheaper at Mother's, for those in the area. She cannot use anything else. She apparently is very sensitive to things, which is why I still have her on formula.
These are the things we need to make it through to next month. As far as gift cards, we shop a lot at Costco, Trader Joe's, and Ralphs. Gas cards are good as next week I'll be driving Mary and Bethany to classes twice a week.
We are honestly very tired of asking for help. We are PRAYING that this is the last month we need to ask. We are hoping that we can get help to get through this month and start next month on an even playing field. If we can get ourselves out of this hole, we should be able to keep ourselves out of this whole. At least while Chris is working like this.
Oh, and I have taken a job as an assistant to an author. I get to work from home helping her with secretarial work. I'm really enjoying being able to help her and earn some money. It's very nice that I can do it in between teaching my girls and caring for the house. It is a HUGE blessing!!!!
May you all have a sweet new year and may God bless you all!!!!
((((HUGS))) Praying.
ReplyDeleteGlad that things are looking up for you guys! There's no shame in asking. You never know how God will bless when we ask for help! People won't know what they can do unless we tell them.
ReplyDeleteAs for your storage bill, try to work with your company if you can. We are behind on our bill too, but praise God they took a small payment to hold us until we get some income. They may work with you.
Praying for God to show Himself strong on your behalf!
Thank you, Kimberly! That encouraged me. It's so hard to ask, but sometimes God needs us to be humble so that He can bless us. - Marcella
